Bluebeard's Castle

Drawing inspiration from Béla Bartók’s The Bluebeard’s Castle, Xuanran's interpretation takes place in Judith's dream, with the costume reflecting her fall from purity to a brutalized existence. The transformation from duvet to wedding dress exposes the stifling of feminine desire beneath society's beautiful veneer. Her aim is to reveal the hidden cruelty within.
